Cryodrive Pad

Cryopad for GM cryocoolers

Cryodrive Pad is a PC program which allows remote monitoring and control of any GM cryocooler via its associated Cryodrive. Connection is made with a standard serial lead shipped with the device.

Save the downloaded file to disk and double-click it to install Cryodrive Pad. Once the installation is complete start the program from the Oxford Cryosystems Folder in the Start Menu or by double-clicking the desktop icon.

Cryodrive Pad runs on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later. If you experience problems upgrading an older installation or installing for the first time you may need to first install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package.

Communication protocol

Cryodrive incorporates an RS232 interface allowing communication with a remote computer. The communication protocol used for this purpose is published here to allow users to integrate their GM coolers into custom control systems.

Older Cryodrives

Older Oxford Cryosystems Cryodrives (with serial numbers lower than R71-0600 or R76-0583) cannot be controlled with Cryodrive Pad. Instead, use the PLCComm software included with your Cryodrive’s installation CD-ROM, which can also be downloaded by following the link below.
