Cryostream
Still the market-leading cooler for crystallography
The Oxford Cryostream Cooler was first launched around twenty-five years ago, and we like to think that over the intervening years, Oxford Cryosystems has helped revolutionise data collection at low temperatures.
Today, the Cryostream is still regarded as the market-leading sample cooler for X-ray diffraction. The system is now offered in three versions, the 700 series, the Plus for those needing high temperatures as well as the low base temperature of 80 K and the Compact, designed specifically for cooling powder samples in capillaries.
All three versions offer the same benefits that across the years have established the Cryostreams as the most reliable, efficient and cost-effective sample cooling device available.
The benefits of owning a Cryostream are numerous and include:
- Temperature ranges of 80 – 400 K for 700 series, 80 – 500 K for Cryostream Plus and Compact
- The best laminar flow available means far less icing than other systems
- Fast cool-down to 100 K in just 20 minutes compared to up to 60 minutes for other systems
- Low LN2 consumption (half that of other commercially available systems)
- Variable flow of either 5 or 10 litre/minute for greater flexibility
- Highly accurate mapping of temperature at crystal position, not end of nozzle
- “Fast Start” option requires no programming
- Effective design means LN2 can be refilled without affecting crystal temperature
- Control, monitoring and data logging available via free Cryopad software
